As joint chief executive of Hunters, one of the most successful York-based estate agents, Kevin Hollinrake could be forgiven just lately if he is having sleepless nights.

Not that his £9.4 million turnover company with 200 employees is flagging in any way. Its huge programme to franchise the brand all over Britain is on target to achieve 1,000 offices within ten years.

And from a sleek new building in Heworth Green it is offering a diverse range of services from new homes to homes overseas. He has alsom established training ands other systems which are being regarded as a template for the whole industry.

Hunters Property Group is the first UK Company to receive official accreditation by City & Guilds and The Institute of Leadership & Management for its in-house training courses. City & Guild and ILM are the UK's leading awards body in work related qualifications.

But he has not yet opened a department for nappy changing!

He and his wife, Nicky, are celebrating the birth of Gabriella, their fourth child and nights at their home, Crayke Castle in Crayke can be a bit restless.

Charlie, 11, Maddie, nine and Bella, four all dote on her.

"It is a wonderful experience, " he says "But I think this will be the last time."

Kevin, who jointly runs the firm with his brother, Keith, has been an estate agent for more than 20 years, but after studying physics at Sheffield Hallam University he set up various businesses.

"I sold everything from army surplus to mobile phones.

At that time it seemed the best way to make a living.

Then he joined Prudential, at the time the largest estate agency in Britain as a branch manager, initially in Haxby and later in Burnley, Lancs.

"I discovered that it was a great business to be in, fast moving and challenging. It was inevitable that eventually I would want to be in the forefront of the industry.

Five years later, in 1992, he and his original founding partner, John Waterhouse, started Hunters in Goodramgate.

"It was a tough time to start. Two months after opening our doors, we were hit by Black Wednesday when in one day interest rates went from ten per cent to 15 per cent.

"But we worked very hard and true to our name, hunted down every deal and we prayed that the market would improve. Eventually it did and we never looked back."

Now he has ambitions to be an MP and it's clearly feasible, He has been selected by the Conservative Party as a prospective parliamentary candidate for Dewsbury in the next general election.

"First thing I'd do if elected is scrap home information packs!" he laughs.

Which job (other than your own) would you like to have and why?

I'd like to be an MP because I get so sick and tired of the mess the country is getting into and think that is the best way to change it. For me, there are too many laws, too much bureaucracy and too few people who have actually done something in modern day politics.

Greatest achievement?

Hunters being named Best Estate Agent in the UK in 1999 and 2004.

Biggest mistake?

So many it is difficult to choose. Probably not working hard enough at my A-Levels which limited my career choices.

What makes you most angry?

People who talk a good game, but don't deliver.

What makes you laugh?

Alcohol, usually. My kids always!

What fools do you suffer least?

People who don't know what they are talking about but insist on talking anyway.

Who do you most admire and why?

Very close between Gandhi and my father and both for similar reasons. They were great men, yet they were also very humble and unassuming in their own ways.

What do you need to make life complete?

Nothing. I am so lucky to be doing what I really love, with people that I really love.

How do you relax?

I used to play a lot of sport. I don't have time these days, but enjoy spending time with family and friends.

Why do you make a difference?

I would like to think that I am a good example of someone who has achieved things through hard work, passion and a decent set of principals.

Name the organisation you see as the perfect one (not your own) and why

Timpson's. Consistently in the UK's top five companies to work for. John Timpson is an inspiration to listen to, he is very honest, not afraid to admit mistakes or to learn from others. He has a new book coming out shortly, Unconventional Common Sense, well worth a read for any aspiring entrepreneur.

Favourite record?

No Bravery, James Blunt.

Favourite holiday destination?

Anywhere quiet in Greece, with a pool, a comfortable sunbed, a good book and a cold beer.
