CITY of York Athletics Club star Kim Critchley is a true all-rounder.

The runner has competed in cross country, road running, triathlon, duathlon and county and national championships.

Critchley won county honours this season after finishing sixth in the Yorkshire County Championship against a top quality field.

Lining up in a county squad featuring five runners from City of Leeds, who are the reigning National Club champions, Kim finished as his side's sixth counter to help Yorkshire finish third.

Critchley was fifth in the Northern Championships and he also finished 16th in the National Championships after leading the field in the early stages.

A club spokesman said: "Kim is a dedicated athlete, training in all weathers. He is a very engaging young man, but also quite unassuming.

"Kim has had his ups and downs with injuries, but gets through them and has achieved a great deal.

"He is a good club runner and, although he could run for a much more high-profile club, he chooses to remain a member of York Knavesmire Harriers.

"When work permits, he will run for his club in road races, whether high or low profile. We really do hope Kim features in these awards as he is very deserving of a prize."
