AN 84-YEAR-OLD woman suffered from burns and smoke inhalation after a chip pan fire in her home.
Humberside Fire & Rescue Service said crews went to the property in Sewerby Road, Bridlington, where an unattended chip pan caught fire and was extinguished by the occupier by removing it from the heat and placing it outside.
It said firefighters administered oxygen therapy and first aid to the woman, who had suffered from smoke inhalation and burns to her legs, and to an 83-year-old male who also suffered from inhaling smoke.
It added that both casualties were left in the care of ambulance staff and that a smoke detector was activated by the fire.
