TOURISTS and shoppers in York city centre have been replaced by dog walkers, cyclists and people out for their daily exercise.

All but a very few shops and businesses are closed just like in the rest of the country.

Even the parks are closed.

So people have been using the streets of the city centre to go jogging, cycling and otherwise exercising, all while keeping as far as possible from anyone not from their household.

A few shops and businesses are open, such as Boots dispensing medicines, and Sainsburys.

But the number of people allowed inside any shop at the same time varies from just two at Hollands & Barretts to 25 at nearby Poundland.

Here are some photos of York city centre during coronavirus lockdown.
