A CARE home firm now says it has NOT had any confirmed cases of coronavirus at its home in Stamford Bridge.

Barchester Healthcare originally said in a statement to The Press, which we reported online earlier today, that there had been cases of Covid-19 at the Beaumont Care Home.

But it has now issued a fresh statement saying: "To date we can confirm that there are no confirmed cases."

It went on to say: "We are confident in the processes in our home with all of our staff trained in infection control, and our staff have been brilliant in implementing this.

"We are following medical advice, and if and when needed we have sufficient and appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE).

"Please be reassured that our staff are trained in this practice, and we are confident that the right procedures will be followed to keep everyone as safe and well as possible.”

A spokesperson added that an individual had contracted the virus after going to hospital 'in regards to a separate issue', but had not returned to the home.
