EIGHTY patients with coronavirus have now died in hospitals run by the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The figure was released this afternoon by NHS England.
The trust said 50 of the patients had died at York Hospital and 30 at its other hospital, Scarborough.
NHS England said that nationwide, a further 778 people who tested positive for the Covid-19 had died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 15,607.
Patients were aged between 22 and 103 years old, and 24 of them, aged between 49 and 91, had no known underlying health condition.
