RELATIVES, friends and care home staff celebrated the 104th birthday of a York woman in style under lockdown restrictions
So many flowers, presents and cards arrived for Peggy Ferguson they filled her room in Ebor Court in Nether Poppleton.
“I have had a wonderful birthday and really enjoyed myself,” she said. “Despite not being able to see all of my friends and family in person, we have enjoyed video calling one another which has been great! I am very thankful to the staff at Ebor Court for everything they have done – my cake was beautiful; they have made me feel very special”.
The home’s lifestyle manager Susie Carman said Mrs Ferguson is a “wonderful woman” who enjoys exercising regularly as well as watching television.
Mrs Ferguson was born in Knaresborough in 1916. She worked in printing, on the railways and at Rowntrees and was married for 71 years.
