A HOLIDAY company has chosen York Minister for its list of top British tourist attractions that can be visited without leaving the sofa.
The list of 13 places ranges from natural sights such as the Giant’s Causeway on the north coast of Northern Ireland, to Buckingham Palace and the buildings where the Bronte sisters lived.
Parkdean Resorts hopes visitors to its website will use the list to go on “virtual staycations”.
York Minister has put a range of online resources including tours of the building on its website since it had to close to worshippers and tourists just before the lockdown began.
Parkdean Resorts hopes virtual visitors will admire the cathedral’s stained glass windows and unusual stonework as well as look into its history.
On its website, the holiday company lists the 13 attractions and provides links to online visual tours of them.
The other chosen attractions are: Hadrian’s Wall, St Ives in Cornwall, Edinburgh Castle, the Tower of London, Chatsworth House in Derbyshire, Loch Ness, the Roman Baths in Bath and St Paul’s Cathedral.
