YORK-based Pavers Foundation has donated £5,000 to the Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust to help them with their work supporting families in the UK fashion and textile sector who are struggling financially to meet their child’s basic needs during the coronavirus pandemic.

The donation, on behalf of Graham Paver, will enable the Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust continue to provide for children from 0 – 18-years-old whose parents work in the UK fashion and textile industry.

The donation will go towards covering the cost of essential items such as clothing, shoes, bedding and household essentials, including white goods.

If a child has a disability or additional needs, the donation can also help to support with mobility equipment, sensory toys, therapies and more.

The charity is also able to support with grants for tablets / laptops to support with home learning at this time of school closures.

Anna Pangbourne, director at the Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust, said: “Enquiries to our charity have tripled in the last few weeks from families who are already feeling the devastating financial impact of Covid-19. This wonderful donation from Pavers will enable us to reach out to families who have lost vital income and are struggling to pay for items that their children need, but they now cannot afford. We are truly indebted.”
