FAMILY homes with price tags rising to almost £1m are being released for ‘early bird’ reservations at a new development in York.

Mulgrave Properties hopes the move will instil confidence among buyers in their Mount Vale Gardens development, on part of the old playing fields at The Mount School.

The joint venture between the York-based property developer and The Helmsley Group, a property development company in York, features 12 three, four and five-bedroom family homes.

The early bird reservations are available on a first come first served basis and enables prospective home buyers to have first refusal on the home of their choice when it is released for sale later in the year.

Prices will range between £750,00 and £995,000. However, because of the uncertainty surrounding Covid-19, the final selling prices and timescale for completion of the properties cannot be confirmed.

The detached and semi-detached properties at Mount Vale Gardens, many of which are over three floors, have a contemporary modern design with open plan living spaces. Situated just off Tadcaster Road, the development has taken inspiration from York Minster by naming the properties after elements of the Minster, from the stained glass windows to the bell towers.

David Smith, head of sales at Mulgrave Properties, said: “This development occupies such a desirable location in York, and the high number of enquiries we have already received is reflective of this.

“We are living in challenging and uncertain times at the moment, however we have chosen to go ahead with the release of the development as planned to give our customers the confidence that we will be continuing with the development as quickly as it is safe for us to do so.”

All of the information customers would usually expect when buying off-plan is available online including the property details, floorplans, site maps and specification details.

Construction at Mount Vale Gardens and all other Mulgrave developments was suspended as a result of Covid-19. As a result of government guidelines, they will be restarting construction on several sites from Monday, May 4.

Mulgrave Properties' head office, show homes and marketing suites will remain closed, but the team is contactable remotely.
