THE York Hospital Trust has recorded another death from Covid-19 - taking the total to 124. 

In the latest NHS statement on coronavirus, the Trust - which includes York and Scarborough hospital - has now recorded 124 deaths.

A further 352 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 20,483 overall.

Patients were aged between 30 and 103 years old. 18 of the 352 patients (aged between 43 and 98 years old) had no known underlying health condition.  

Their families have been informed.

The NHS said  21 deaths are reported with no positive COVID-19 test result.

Since Tuesday, NHS England and NHS Improvement also report the number of patient deaths where there has been no COVID-19 positive test result, but where COVID-19 is documented as a direct or underlying cause of death on part one or part two of the death certification process.  

This change has been introduced for deaths that occurred on 24 April and subsequently.
