Thirty-five Covid deaths have been reported in a week at care homes in North Yorkshire, East Yorkshire and York
THE coronavirus has claimed the lives of 35 care home residents in a week.
The Office for National Statistics said the fatalities were reported to the Care Quality Commission at care homes in North Yorkshire, East Yorkshire and York in the week to January 8.
It said 18 were reported in the East Riding of Yorkshire Council area, 16 in the North Yorkshire County Council area and one in the City of York Council area.
