Fire crews tackled a bin fire in York's Shambles Market in the early hours of today
A BIN and its contents have been destroyed after apparently being set on fire deliberately in York city centre early today.
North Yorkshire Fire &Rescue Service said crews were called to Shambles Market at 3.40am and put out the fire with a hose reel jet, but it caused '100 per cent' fire damage to the bin and its contents.
"The cause is believed to be deliberate," it added.
