PUPILS at a school in York have been given a boost to help with their school work - through two generous donations from separate organisations.
Westfield Primary Community School in Acomb, have been enjoying the benefits of a technology boost courtesy of two donors based in the city.
Earlier this month, The Ed De Nunzio Charitable trust, which aims to help children and young people around the York area to reach their full potential, donated 15 new chromebooks to the school.
This was then followed by a generous £2500 gift donation from the York-based RedBlack Software Ltd.
One of the Westfield pupils making the most of the new laptops, Emma, aged 7 said: "I think the chromebooks are good because I love all of the challenges on Numbots. It helps me with maths."
The additional support has ensured that year two pupils at Westfield Primary now have a full class set of chromebooks to support their learning journeys and help them with their education at the school.
Commenting on the donations, year two teacher, Miss Holmes said: "The children have loved using the devices.
"Whether it be to develop our times tables knowledge through the TT Rockstars app, help us with our phonics or even enabling us to take a tour of the International Space Station, the chromebooks have had such a positive impact in class.
"We’re so grateful for this additional support, particularly at this time."
