HERE are the latest traffic restrictions for York and the surrounding area:
Heslington Road: All vehicles except bikes are banned from the parking area on the south side of Heslington Road between numbers 29 and 31 for the introduction of secure cycle parking in that area.
The cycle parking will be available to hire for six months at a cost of £43.20 plus £25 deposit.

Shipton Road - Water End: The public footpath connecting Shipton Road -Water End, will be closed during building works from today until September 28, 2021, or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the works can be carried out safely. An alternative route will be available.
Hessay level crossing, York: No overnight access to vehicles during track maintenance works from April 6 to April 10. Restrictions will operate overnight between 10pm and 6am during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via New Road, Main Street, Atterwith Lane, Marston Lane, A59, New Road and vice versa.
Grange Street, York: Vehicles are restricted from proceeding and waiting in Grange Street, York between its junctions with Fulford Road and Grange Garth (closed road) from 9am on April 5 to midnight on April 9 for carriageway resurfacing works. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be available.
Haxby Station level crossing: No overnight access from 23.30pm on April 13 6am on April 14 for track maintenance work. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Station Road, Towthorpe Road, Strensall Road, A1237, York Road, Station Road and vice versa.
Penley’s Grove Street - Lockwood Street, York: The footpath will be closed from 8am on April 12 to 5pm on April 16 for electricity works. An alternative route will be available.
