A TEENAGER was attacked near a York supermarket.
North Yorkshire Police have issued a description of a man who they believe assaulted an 18-year-old near Tesco at Askham Bar.
The force say the incident happened at about 11.40am on March 8 and the teenager was assaulted as he left the Tesco store making his way back to York College on the ramp that leads from the Tesco carpark to the crossing in Tadcaster Road.
A police spokesman said: "The suspect is described as a white man, of student age, around 5ft 11in in height, with brown hair and of medium build. He was believed to be wearing wearing a light grey hoodie and dark brown skinny jeans and grey trainers.
