NO new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in the York area for the second day running - and the city's rate remains below the 20 mark.
The latest data from Public Health England (PHE) shows that although the city's rate has increased by three, it remains below the 20 mark at 18.5 cases per 100,000 population. This remains below the UK national average, which stands at 39 cases per 100,000 population.
The PHE data shows that for the second day running no more cases of the virus have been recorded in the City of York Council area, as the total for the pandemic remains at 12,219.
In North Yorkshire the rate has dropped by one to 30.9 cases per 100,000 population. A further 15 cases have been recorded in the North Yorkshire County Council area, taking the total for the pandemic to 29,403.
In the East Riding of Yorkshire the rate has dropped by seven to 35.5 cases per 100,000 population, with a further 23 cases taking the area's total for the pandemic to 17,892.
Across the UK, a further 2,763 cases take the country's total for the pandemic to 4,367,291.
