A NEW family-run York motorhome hire firm are all set to launch on Monday (April 12).
CamperVango UK is the brainchild of the outdoor adventure-loving Hannington family, who have utilised the time in lockdown to start their new business venture.
Their 5 and 6 berth motorhomes come equipped with toilet and shower, king sized and single bunk beds, gas oven, hob, fridge/freezer, external awning, TV/DVD, LPG gas, picnic table and chairs and much more. Both vehicles are also equipped with solar panels providing a great opportunity for wild camping wherever permissible. Most importantly, these vehicles are weighted to 3500Kg which means they can be driven on a normal car licence, subject to penalty infractions.
Owner Phil Hannington said: “I always enjoyed camping holidays with my family as a child and have a particularly fond memory of my father chasing the outer part of the tent down the campsite in high winds, when holidaying on the south coast in the 1980s. However, I’ve always longed for upgrading the tent to a motorhome. There’s just something about the luxury of having a home-from-home on wheels.
“Great Britain has so much to offer with a wonderful selection of cities, countryside and coastal resorts. However, as a nation we’re so reliant on the weather. That’s why holidaying in a motorhome offers the very best for outdoor adventure holidaying but with the added protection from the elements – no matter rain or shine.”
CamperVango UK will also be sponsoring local man - British Superbike racer Dan Linfoot, who will be hiring one of the motorhomes to attend all 11 rounds of the 2021 championship.
Dan said: “I’m delighted to be associated with CamperVango as a supplier of my accommodation at the British Superbike events. This year more than ever it’s clear to see that having your own space is important, and I know the Hanningtons will absolutely provide the best possible service to their customers.”
The team is made up of Lesley, Phil, Mike and Nikki Hannington and the vehicles have been given family names too, Henry and Hilda, after Lesley’s late parents.
