THE total number of York people registered as having had Covid-19 has fallen because some were found to have been given false positive test results.
About 8,000 cases have been removed from the UK total by the Government because of the innacurate results provided by rapid lateral flow tests.
The authorities said they all took a more accurate PCR test within three days which turned out to be negative, meaning they were unlikely to have the virus.
In the City of York Council area, this means the total number of people known to have had coronavirus has fallen by 69, to 12,156.
