TRAFFIC has become stuck in snow this afternoon on the North York Moors.
North Yorkshire Police tweeted that drivers should avoid Saltersgate Bank, a steep stretch of the A169 Pickering to Whitby road, where traffic was stuck in snow.

But in an update, police tweeted that gritters were en route to the area and traffic could proceed with care.
Meanwhile, the A171 Whitby to Scarborough road has also been blocked in both directions following a minor two-vehicle collision at Pond Hill, with motorists urged to avoid the area until further notice.
