A CAR ended up on its roof after a crash on the A171 Whitby to Scarborough road in wintry conditions.
North Yorkshire Police said the two-vehicle collision happened at 11.10am today at Pond Hill.
One of the cars, a grey Hyundai i30, ended up on its roof, but the occupants were not seriously injured and nor were the occupants of the other vehicle, a red Citroen C1.
The road was closed for some hours while the emergency services worked at the scene and the vehicles were recovered, with cars caught up in the tail backs being turned around, but the road reopened just after 2pm, with traffic moving slowly.
Witnesses to the collision are being asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 1, and speak to the Force Control Room, quoting reference NYP-10042021-0131.
