SNOW brought traffic to a standstill on the North York Moors yesterday and more wintry showers are expected today - but will it get any milder by tomorrow, when beer gardens and cafe patios are allowed to reopen?
Forecasters have some good news - there may be more sleet and snow showers today but it will then start getting milder from tomorrow onwards.
BBC Weather in association with Meteogroup is forecasting a maximum of 6C in York today after -1 last night, with chilly northerly winds continuing, but tomorrow should reach 8C with sunny spells, and Tuesday should see 11C as winds swing round to westerlies.
And forecasters believe the city could be basking in sunshine and 15C by next weekend with winds from the south-east.
