A SNOW warning has been issued for parts of North Yorkshire today - and police have been dealing with an incident in East Yorkshire in the wintry weather this morning.
The Met Office yellow warning says snow showers could cause disruption to travel this morning, with drivers facing longer journey times on some roads.
Humberside Police tweeted just after 9am that it was currently dealing with an incident on the B1249 between Langtoft and Driffield, due to bad weather/road conditions, adding: "Please drive with care if travelling through the area."
The A169 across the North York Moors from Pickering to Whitby was temporarily blocked yesterday by heavy snow at Saltersgate Bank.
York saw sleet showers yesterday and a light snow shower fell this morning, and BBC Weather in association with MeteoGroup has warned there will be more sleet and hail showers this afternoon, which could turn temporarily to snow this evening in York.
Tomorrow will be dramatically better, with long sunny periods and temperatures rising to 9C, and 11C is likely by Tuesday, with more sunshine.
