A SPECIALIST engineering firm is celebrating its team of long-serving staff as 11 members mark a milestone anniversary.
The colleagues who represent almost half of the workforce at Tadweld have spent more than ten years working at the firm's Tadcaster workshop, while almost a quarter have clocked up more than 20 years.
Tadweld’s long-servers have become a vital part of the firm with several having risen to senior positions. Workshop manager Dave Burchill joined in 1997 as an apprentice, nine days shy of his 16th birthday.
Operations director Chris Joy has been with the firm since March 1995, starting as a sheet metal worker and now sitting on Tadweld’s board of directors.
He said: “Our team includes some of the most experienced engineers in the business and I know I’m not alone in enjoying my career journey with the firm.
“At Tadweld, every job we do is bespoke, so having considerable experience in the workshop helps us to meet each new individual challenge. Our long-servers have always provided invaluable mentoring to our newer team members and we’re incredibly proud to have them.”
Chairman and director Paul Rose said: “Having a loyal, stable team in the workshop is vital to the firm functioning efficiently and building trust with our customers.
“Our team is the lifeblood of what we do and we’re honoured to have them spend significant parts of their careers as part of the Tadweld family. The board is resolutely committed to providing training and career development for our team, and this is the primary reason that so many of our engineers have chosen to stay with us for so long”
The specialist engineering and fabrication business has operated from its workshop in Tadcaster since it was founded in 1978. It has provided bespoke solutions for global names including Coca Cola, Britvic and Nestlé.
Tadweld is also looking to develop its team of the future.
The firm is looking to recruit a number of positions, including apprentices, to support those looking to learn on the job or kickstart their career in the industry.
