THIEVES stole a motorbike and dumped it in the river in York.
North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about a theft of a motorcycle and power tools from a shed in Jubilee Terrace in the Leeman Road area of York.
They believe the theft took place some time over night between 7pm and 7.30am on April 1 and 2.
A black Honda CG125 motorcycle was stolen as well as a number of RYOBI power tools including:
• 1 x RYOBI Percussion Drill – R18PD3-0
• 1x RYOBI Impact Driver – RID1801M
• 1x RYOBI Circular Saw – R18CSP-0
• 2 x RYOBI batteries -RB18L40 All of the tools were green/yellow with grey in colour.
The bike was taken from the shed, taken down the cycle track that runs parallel to the river Ouse and train tracks and then dumped into the river.
A spokesman for the force said: "We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
"In particular, we are appealing for information about any local residents that might have CCTV or doorbell cameras which shows any suspects leave the area towards the riverside with a motorbike. We are also interested to hear from anyone that might of been offered any second hand RYOBI power tools.
