LUBNA Khan-Salim gave up her job as a plastic surgeon to open her own beauty clinic just a month before the pandemic took hold.
The past 12 months have been challenging with restrictions and lockdowns preventing the aesthetic surgeon and entrepreneur from operating.
But Lubna is now celebrating the re-opening of her business and is offering a skin treatment more usually found in London.
Selby-based Lubna is one of a few qualified, independent professionals offering the celebrity-favoured skin treatment in the region.
The founder of medi-spa, Time to Bloom, believes she is the only female qualified physician in North Yorkshire who will be providing the Inmode Morpheus-8 technology enjoyed by the likes of Amanda Holden, Faye Tozer and Judy Murray.
And she says she is already receiving interest from people across the country.
The non-surgical skin treatment device uses micro-needling and radiofrequency to rejuvenate skin on the face, neck, and body. It is said to be effective for skin tightening, reducing scarring and achieving the effects of a facelift without having to go under the knife.
Lubna said: “I’m so excited to be able to offer this treatment in Yorkshire. It’s been a celebrity secret for so long and now the people of Yorkshire can enjoy it too.
"Because of the reduced running costs, we can offer it at a much lower price point than is available in London, and I’m already receiving enquiries from people down south who want to come up to Yorkshire now travel and beauty treatments are permitted.”
Lubna launched Time to Bloom in February 2020, just before the pandemic took hold. Like many in the beauty industry, Lubna has spent much of the last year closed for treatments.
However, with full service now resumed, and a busy booking schedule, Lubna is looking to the future.
“My first year of trading has been full of challenges," she said. "When I left my role as a plastic surgeon in the NHS, I didn’t envision what the next 12 months would have in store.
"However, I was determined to continue my entrepreneurial dream and I have spent this time developing my business, pivoting to offer new products and services, sharing my expertise online, and have developed some amazing relationships and partnerships with other businesses and charities."
