DRINKERS and diners were in a celebratory mood as they enjoyed a first evening out in York since January.
As lockdown restrictions eased today, people enjoyed drinking and dining outdoors.
Extra pavement tables were fully occupied outside the Fossgate Social cafe bar, while crowds gathered at the top of Fossgate, enjoying drinks from neighbouring pubs.
In Petergate, diners enjoyed an al fresco meal at Forest, the restaurant.
They braved cold temperatures as twilight fell.
Clearly, after more than three months of lockdown, low temperatures were not enough to deter people from getting out to socialise with friends and family.
