A DROPPED cigarette is thought to have started a fire which left one person needing oxygen in York.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue say they were called out at about 11.39am today to Lawrence Street in York afer reports of a fire.
A spokesman for the service said that crews from Acomb, York and two from Huntington including the aerial ladder platform attended a fire within a bin store believed to have been started by a dropped cigarette.
He said: "The fire was out on the arrival of crews. Crews adminstered oxygen therapy to one person and requested an ambulance. No other action was taken by the fire crews."
