I READ with disbelief the article to start a campaign to bring visitors to the city, first of all why waste all that money and secondly what are our visitors going to see?
Please ‘hear ye, hear ye - come and see York’ - you will be greeted with the following:
1. Numerous potholes everywhere
2. Railings around York Museum, the walls and the top of Piccadilly which are badly in need of painting
3. Uneven pavements
4. Graffiti (what happened to the money set aside to clear up graffiti?)
5. Bridges that need painting as well as lampposts
6. And litter decorating our streets not forgetting to mention the urine stains on the walls by Lloyds bank and other places around town.
Forget about the walls of York, the Viking museum, the Shambles, and any other delights, just come and enjoy York the city that right now that is not fit to have visitors!
