UPDATED 3.15PM: The road is now reopened and the accident has been cleared.

TWO vehicles have been involved in a serious accident which has shut a road in both directions.

Emergency services are on the scene at the A614 High Street in Holme on Spaulding Moor in East Yorkshire between Moor End and Howden Road which is now closed both ways due to a serious accident.

Two vehicles are involved and it's affecting traffic between Drain Lane (Wholsea turn-off) and A163 High Street. Traffic is coping well. The accident happened at the Port Royal / Back Lane crossroads about half way along this stretch at about 4.30am and it's also affecting traffic between Howden and Market Weighton.
