The Dungeon is hosting two events in May, giving you the chance to take a peek behind the paranormal veil and explore the dark, historic rooms at night.

Paranormal Research York Ltd claim there is an opportunity to meet Dungeon regular 'Sam' with the possibility of talking to the spirit.

There will be a chance to use traditional equipment such as pendulums and the latest ghost-hunting technology, as seen on TV’s Ghost Hunting shows in the first event of the night.

The earlier event is open to those 16 and over between 6pm-8.30pm on May 29, 2021, with their "darkest event yet" taking place between 9pm-2pm on the same day for over 18’s only.

Guest numbers are limited to make sure every guest has the chance to be fully involved with the investigation.

In the later session, the team will be going all out to get one of the York Dungeons spirits to manifest and make themselves known.

Kevin Spindloe and Clare Bryant from Paranormal Research York said: “We have waited a long time to investigate the York Dungeon.

"We want to make this a special event and as we are often asked if under 18’s can come along, we decided this would be a perfect opportunity.

"It gives the curious a chance to safely peek into the paranormal, whilst the second event means we can offer our darkest event yet”.

Meanwhile Dan Lloyd, guest experience manager at The York Dungeon, said the experience will take people into "the most active areas of the building".

“The York Dungeon has often been considered a home to ghostly paranormal activity and sightings, and we’re delighted to be opening our doors after-hours for our friends at Paranormal Research York to explore the very darkest depths of the Dungeon on the evening of Saturday 29th May.

"Running two events back-to-back, they will be delving into the most active areas of the building for those brave souls that think they can handle the secrets of the Dungeon.”

Due to the nature of the event, it is open to ages 16 and above when accompanied by a paying adult.

Tickets are £25 per person for the first event of the evening and £50 per person for the darker event.
