POLICE and firefighters are carrying out an investigation after a car fire in York.
The incident happened in the early hours this morning (April 23) and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue say a crew from York were called out to deal with the blaze at about 12.20am to Ascot Mews off Emerald Street in The Groves.
A crew from York attended an incident involving a fire to a car that had been parked up for a number of days with the battery disconnected.
The fire service said the cause is believed to be deliberate
On Twitter the fire service's Station Manager Tony Walker said: "A crew from York have just dealt with a car fire in the city. @NYP_York & Fire now carrying out an investigation into the cause."
