POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information after a violent altercation involving a group of men in Harrogate.

The incident involved five men of varying ages physically fighting in Knox Close on Friday April 16 at around 7.40pm.

Police said the incident was very distressing for local residents and some of the men involved suffered facial injuries.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information about it to please get in touch by calling 101 and quoting reference number:12210099520.

"Please note, if you have already been approached by police in connection with this incident there is no need to get in touch again."
