YORK residents are invited to share their memories of Rowntree Park as it celebrates its 100th birthday.
The park is marking is centenary year on July 16 - the date the Rowntree family handed the deeds over to City of York Council so they could manage the park.
But The Friends of Rowntree Park are classing the whole of 2021 as the park's Big Birthday with a range of projects and events taking place.
The group is hoping to mark the special year with a short video of York residents wishing 'Happy Birthday to Rowntree Park' - with members hopeful that some people will record the message in their native language or accent to showcase the city's diversity.
You can record a quick video with a birthday message on your phone and send to events@rowntreepark.org.uk
Those with fond memories of the park are also asked to send in photographs and memories anytime from 1921-2021 to be used in a special website and social media display.
