JOB vacancies are becoming more available as York's economy springs back to life with the further easing of lockdown restrictions.
With a steady rise in the number of people claiming Universal Credit in the city - which includes those who are not working or on low incomes and reduced hours - The Press has teamed up with York Jobcentre Plus to highlight the latest opportunities available.
This week's selection of positions being advertised for York range from caring for cats to working as a retail assistant in the new Iceland store in Foss Islands Retail Park, fundraising for a charity and data analysis.
Employers include York Theatre Royal, Aviva, Frankie and Benny’s, M&S and York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation, among others.
The vacancy offers come in the same week as the start of a recruitment drive to fill 19 Cabinet Office jobs in York, and as concerns mount about the shortage of chefs in the city.
