RYEDALE now has the second lowest Covid rate in the country after just one person tested positive in seven days.
Public Health England said the district bordering York had a rolling rate of 1.8 per 100,000 population in the seven days to May 16.
The only district with a lower rate was Eastbourne, after it had no cases in the seven day period.
The City of York Council area had a rate of just 12.3 per 100,000 after 26 cases were confirmed in the seven day period.
North Yorkshire had a rate of 17.2 after 106 cases, and East Yorkshire had one of 23.4 after 80 cases.
