MORE than 110,000 York residents have now had a Covid jab - and more than 62,000 of them have also had a second dose.
City of York Council's latest Covid data tracker report says that as of Wednesday, a total of 111,909 residents from the authority's area have had their first dose of the vaccine.
It says this represents 53.1 per cent of the estimated total population of York and 64.3 per cent of the estimated adult population.
The report says a total of 62,381 residents had had both doses of the vaccine, representing 29.6 per cent of the estimated total population of York and 35.9 per cent of the estimated adult population.
Medics at York's mass vaccination centre are working from 6am to 11pm this weekend in a bid to deliver an extra 12,000 jabs to people in their 50s, whose wait for a second dose has been cut from 12 to eight weeks in a bid to protect people fully from the Indian variant.
