A CASUALTY was airlifted to hospital after a major crash which closed a major road all night.
The two vehicle collision happened on the A64 at Flaxton, opposite the Jinnah restaurant near Harton, at 8pm yesterday evening.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance was called to the scene of the collision, and a Yorkshire Ambulance Service spokeswoman said today that a patient was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary.
Sgt Paul Cording, of North Yorkshire Police, said at 7am today that the A64 was now fully open following the earlier collision and thanked people for their patience.
"Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact police. Dial 101, press 1 and pass information on to the Force Control Room, quoting reference number NYP-24082021-0479," he added.
