FINISHING touches have been made to the line-up for the city's second Literature Festival.
Figures from the literary world including Tracy Chevalier, author of Girl With A Pearl Earring, and the acclaimed poet Carol Ann Duffy, are among the highlights at the annual showcase. The Lord Mayor of York, Coun Irene Waudby, was among the first to receive a programme for the 2008 cultural event at York Central Library.
The festival will take place between March 1 and 15. Other attractions include a talk by Gervase Phinn, a literary walk around York, and a host of workshops, readings and competitions.
Copies of the programme are available from City of York Council libraries or can be downloaded from the website at www.york.gov.uk City of York Council has worked with a number of organisations to finalise the programme including Borders, Waterstone's, York University, York Theatre Royal, the National Railway Museum, York Writers, Melton's Too, Writers Together, Pennine Poets and Spoken Word. Tickets can be obtained from York Theatre Royal, City Screen, Friargate Theatre and Waterstone's in York.
