TREASURED pictures of family and friends on a lost camera memory card have been returned to its grateful owner - thanks to the Press.

Earlier this month, we told how Andrew Clark found a memory card outside his home on Tanner Row, York, near Flares bar on Saturday, December 22, and was trying to track down its owner.

He said: "When I found the card I thought I would have a look at it and noticed there were 171 pictures on the camera.

"There were several pictures of a baby, loads of family pictures, pictures taken at a Christmas party and lots of pictures of friends getting ready to go out and drinking in town in places like The Gallery.

"The pictures seem to hold memories of lots of fun nights out, and I thought it would be such a shame if all these memories were lost."

Mr Clark contacted us at The Press, and we printed the story with some of the pictures from the card, and asked the owner to collect the lost memory card from the shop Secrets, at 43 Goodramgate, York, which Mr Clark's wife, Carole, runs.

The day after a female student rang up the shop and collected her missing memories.

Andrew said: "There was an immediate response to the article you printed.

"The young lady - Rebecca Verser - rang our shop, Secrets, the next day and spoke to my wife who arranged for her to collect the card from the shop.

"Rebecca, who is from Malton, said all her friends were phoning her to tell her she was in the paper and was really pleased to hear that the card had been found.

"She was uncertain how the card had got outside Flares, but that was after a good night out and her memory may have been a little impaired!

"She rewarded us with a nice box of chocolates which were gratefully received."
