May I thank you, no doubt on behalf of many other readers, for setting the record straight on exactly who was the runner-up in the Miss England competition (Big Bother, The Press, January 8).
The complexity of referring to the second and third places as first and second runners-up must have confounded more than just me, and Channel 4's bewildered response was less than satisfactory.
The Press is known for setting new standards in journalism; many readers will recall The Press's exclusive about the runaway supermarket trolley, which eventually achieved much national coverage.
However, Tuesday's full page coverage is proof, were it needed, that no news is good news - for someone.
