Give me strength.
Have certain councillors in this city got nothing important to worry about (Litter bin disgrace, The Press, January 4)?
Graffiti on a litter bin, so what? How is that stopping the bin from being used for what it is intended for? A burnt-out bin near Victoria Bar, so what? The bin was still useable for holding litter.
A quick search on the internet shows that those type of litter bins cost £300 each.
What would you be saying if the council replaced every bin that was reported as having graffiti on, slightly damaged, chipped or disfigured in some way?
I know what I would be saying.
Get your teeth into important issues, not triviality. You could start by holding your ward walkabouts early evening, when people who want to raise issues with you are actually at home.
When you do your walkabout in my ward you never knock on my door, even though I display the notice in my window that I want to speak to you.
Never mind listening to housewives and the elderly during the day, come and talk to your constituents who aren't easily fooled.
