THREE charities in York have come together to create a Christmas-themed event for you and your canine friends.
The Wilberforce Trust, York Rotary and the RSPCA York Animal Home have joined forces to create the 'Santa Paws' event in the city - which will take place in December.
A spokesperson for the event said: "It might be September but it’s never too early to plan Christmas events and for three York charities, a spirit of cooperation and common cause has led to the creation of Santa Paws."
The event will be held on Sunday December 5 the Knavesmire running track - and dogs will be invited to bring their owners along in Christmas-themed outfits.
There will be prizes for best dressed dog and best dressed owner, awarded by William Wilberforce, a range of Christmas music, mulled wine and mince pies for all to enjoy.
The charities said they are aiming to raise £1,500 to be split between them and help with the vital services they provide around the city.
