DEFENDING champion Bob Smith, of Fulford, reached the quarter-finals of the York Conservative Clubs Brian Jeffrey Memorial Over-50s Snooker KO by defeating club-mate Geof Robinson.
Smith will meet Acomb's Ken Taylor, a seven times winner, in a re-run of last year's final.
Bob Ventress, of Acomb, beat Heworth's Colin Richardson and next plays Heworth's Keith Watkinson.
In the Foster's Challenge Handicapped Snooker KO, three-times winner Neil Wood, of Heworth, beat club-mate Alf Appleby 2-0 and will meet Acomb's Adrian Barrowclough in the last eight.
Tayrol Scruton Cup Snooker KO defending champion Wood went out 2-1 despite a first frame 61 break against Cive Whyte.
In the Hair Flicks Hylton-Foster Billiards KO, holder Keith Myers, of Acomb, beat Trevor Ventress to make the last eight.
