THORPE United Under-15s reached the semi-finals of the York Minor League U15s League Cup with a 2-1 victory over York Railway Institute.
York RI dominated the majority of the game but Thorpe took their chances.
Goalkeeper Danny May produced a string of top class saves to keep RI at bay.
Thorpe started brightly and their early pressure the pressure paid off when Dec Copley drove into the box and poked the ball home with a poacher's strike.
After that, it was all RI and eventually a free-kick was superbly struck to make it 1-1 at half-time.
After the break, Thorpe brought wingers Josh Brigham and James Leadbeatter into the game and RI were unable to cope.
With eight minutes left, Thorpe's Jordon Lodge chased the ball into the corner and crossed for Jack Ashmore to nod home.
