Judges, barristers, magistrates and other members of the legal profession from the North Eastern Circuit attended the Annual Legal Service at York Minster today.
Accompanied by the Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, Mrs Jo Ropner, the colourful procession set off from the Assembly Rooms to the South Trancept of York Minster for a services given by the Archbishop of York Stephen Cottrell.
One of the youngest ever Presidents of the Harrogate and District Law Society, Emma Doughty, 29 - a former pupil of Archbishop Holgate's School and University of York law Student - attended the ceremony.
She said: "I was highly honoured to represent the Harrogate area at the service and it was a privilege meeting so many esteemed members of the legal profession there
"It was such a wonderful atmosphere in the Minister and fantastic that it could go ahead this year. The Archbishop himself was delighted to welcome such a full congregation now that the Covid-19 restrictions have eased."
