A CITY centre building which is currently home to a popular toy shop has been bought by a York property company.
North Star has acquired the prominent retail building where The Entertainer is based in Coney Street to add to its growing investment portfolio in the city.
There is a long-lease in place with the national toy retail brand.
This acquisition follows other purchases the company has made over recent months that include the TK Maxx shop, also in Coney Street, the former New Look building in Parliament Street, which now houses a vintage clothing store, and various joint ventures across York with other property businesses.
The 9,000 sq ft building was bought from an institutional investor for an undisclosed sum following other recent announcements about potential regeneration projects designed to enhance the area, including a new bridge across the River Ouse.
A spokesman for North Star said: “York is a fantastic place and we are excited to add to our other investments in the area. Over recent months the city has shown its vibrancy and opportunity as the city centre evolves and improves.”
