FIREFIGHTERS were called in after reports of a fire on a train.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue say they were called out at 10.17 am yesterday (October 24) to Front Street, Grosmont near Whitby.
A spokesman for the service said: "Crews from Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay responded to a report of a fire in the kitchen carriage of an empty train.
"The fire was confined to the area between the internal wood panel and external stainless steel panel of the train.
"An area of 1sqm was cut away and the fire was extinguished using one hose reel jet, there was no further damage, one hose reel jet, tools and a thermal imaging camera were used."
