A WOMAN has been taken to hosptial after her bicycle and a car collided on a main road to York this morning.
Large traffic queues formed both ways along the A19 in Fulford's Main Street after the accident at around 7.25am today caused the road to be closed in both directions while police and ambulance crews were called to the scene.
The injured woman, who is in her 20s and was riding the bike which collided with a red Peugeot 205, was taken to York Hospital, but her injuries are not serious. The road has now been reopened.
In a separate rush-hour incident on another busy city road, a man in his 20s was also injured after coming off his bike at the junction of St George's Place and Tadcaster Road.
He was treated at the scene by a Yorkshire Ambulance Service rapid response unit and did not need to be taken to hospital. No other vehicles are believed to have been involved.
