I'VE followed York City since 1963-64, and in all those 40-odd years watching City play, I've seen some great strikers, but Paul Aimson to me was the complete striker in every way possible.
On the ground he could use either foot, and in the air total domination, a York City legend and my hero to this day. I was still only 12-years-old when City won promotion in 1964/65 with Paul's 26 league goals being the highlight for me.
At my first FA Cup game he scored his first hat-trick for the club against Bangor City that same season, but in all his goals he scored for City, the one that's top of my list was the brilliant header and last minute equaliser against Southampton in the FA Cup fourth round tie of 1970-71 - what a comeback.
You did York City proud Paul, RIP, and thanks for so many great goals, and so many memories.
